Currently, there are only two medications that are FDA approved for the treatment of hair loss:
Finasteride (Propecia/proscar) and Minoxidil (Rogaine).
Both Finasteride and Minoxidil must be used continuously for sustained results, and when discontinued, the process of balding resumes. In addition, a combination treatment of both minoxidil solution and finasteride is found to have added benefit for men with adrogenetic alopecia.
For those people who are adverse to medical therapy, Low Light Level Laser is also recommended to stimulate hair growth.
